I hope you exit the Cutler Majestic realizing how urgent this story is. I am so honored to helm this process, and I am humbled to work with such talented and capable collaborators. I am so proud that Emerson Stage programmed Cabaret to finish off their season. This brought on many important conversations about intersectionality, which is the heart of our production. ![]() Of course, Jews are one of many targeted communities worth mentioning. Sadly, this show has never been more urgent: hate crimes are spiking in our country and antisemitism is at a record high, with 55% of hate crimes targeting Jewish people, who make up only 2.5% of our population. Speaking of roots, there is a significance of blue flowers in this production: I learned that Nazis used to don a blue cornflower on their suit, so they could secretly recognize each other. We also wanted to explore what would happen if the color was slowly drained from a world of blissful ignorance a world where evil is secretly seeping into the roots of our society. We wanted to honor the writer's intentions with Cabaret while also nodding to the iconic world of cabaret chairs, bowler hats, and chase marquee signs. She serves as the Education Director and Associate Producer for The Front Porch Arts Collective and is an Assistant Professor of Theater at Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music. In 2020 she won the Inaugural Greg Ferrell Award for her excellence in teaching and supporting young people. Pascale was named one of the WBUR ARTery 25 Artists of Color Transforming the Cultural Landscape in Boston. Pascale also serves as the Associate Director for The Broadway National Tour of Jagged Little Pill. Pascale served as the Associate Director to Gil Rose on X:The Life and Times of Malcolm X with Odyssey Opera and Kimberly Senior on Our Daughters, Like Pillars at The Huntington Theater. As an Assistant to the Director she has worked with Timothy Douglas, Liesl Tommy, Billy Porter, Paul Daigneault and M.
